Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Will SLB buy WFT Completions and Remedial Sevices

This will fit nicely in our completion portfolio and give us a fantastic tool company with true professionals!

This argument is not even considered or will be considered untill slb fixes all cylinders, you all know right now some cylinders are misfiring.

Eventhough monopolizing market is a dangerous game and terrible for employees, slb will do us it dry and there nowhere else we can move.

This is just like dream of someone who has no clue what is going on with operators and their future.

Would the SEC allow this? Arguably SLB paid too much for the Smith purchase with very little ROI in this purchase but is their overlap in the completion segment between SLB and WFT?

What is WFT worth? The AL is interesting and would mesh nicely with our group and they do have a real fishing team with professionals who know how to run that business.

Is it possible? I for one would like to see it.

SLB and WFT deserve each other

Given SLB's knack for buying companies and trashing them, it's probably not a good idea for WFT's sake.

fop - admittedly, it's not ideal but it's not a bad strategy depending upon where you pitch your price. If you can just cover your overheads and survive this downturn then that justifies discounting. Your competitors are probably aiming to do the same.

In the field Schlumberger is giving massive discounts to clients to compete with the other drillers....this is not good in the short or long term. Desperation is the word that springs to mind. A weak position to be in.

Slb should prevent share price from further declination and earn some cash before burn more cash with investing in dead technologies.

Every other service company share are climbing except slb perhaps this is indicating market doesn't like slb's way of running business.

Hard to believe this is even a question while real question is how many more to kick out to have an normal company.

Whoever works in this company knows almost half of people around you are idle and none productive.

SLB purchased a tool company back in 2010, Smith and we all know the outcome of this acquisition. Why would SLB make the same mistake twice? Completion YES remedial No!

Obviously a question from one of the drone managers beloved of Schlumberger.
