@1woc hahaha your manager has balls man if it were my manager he be on the PA telling the shop lifter to stop and come back or boss someone to go get him for him, but oh no he wont leave his precious office.
Our SGM is nuts, I watched him chase down a guy who was shoplifting, tackled him at the door and handcuffed him. Told me to call the cops. He said "no bodys ripping off my store" place is crazy
Where I work it is a every day thing and no sears don’t care what gets taken if they did they have are lp back in are store. I love when they call and tell you that you let the shop lifter leave with the product really I don’t get paid enough. Sears is a joke any more they got what they wanted and now they just slowly bleeding her out to the last breath, sad days for sure. If they really wanted to turn it around they start by taking care of there customers better and there employers to be able to give them that wow. All I hear is that are warranty’s s--- that you can’t even get a person to fix there products so why am I wasting my money not happening and we get put on plan because we can’t get PAs well sears time for you to step up to the plate for a change.
There was a thread on here earlier this year that said the goal of Sears LP these days is really to watch the employees rather than the customers. If they catch an employee doing something wrong, they can fire them with no unemployment or severance to pay.
We have so called LP and is one full time and the other part-time. The full-timer has a "get back at people" attitude because they lost their position as a lead on the floor. People are still walking out with merchandise regardless, so having this person in there makes no difference. I think someone needs to watch the people in LP while they are watching us. Because some are doing some shady things that should get them fired.
If Sears doesn't care, I don't care.
I agree whats the point you cant do nothing if you see them stealing. This is where LP comes into play, but my LP doesnt do much honestly if more people knew our store would do nothing for people stealing it would sky rocket and have more people steal.
They don't care about shoplifting, so I don't. I used to care, but they don't want you or me to care. I make sure everything that needs to be secured is secure and that's about it. Whenever I see someone suspicious I ask them if they need to find something, that's all I can do anyways. I don't bother telling a manager because they believe remote monitoring will have our backs (how?).
They even made it a point to tell us not to call the police in the "acknowledgement" we had to do, and they don't want you disturbing remote monitoring unless it's over $300 in merchandise. They really could care less if merchandise walks out of the door. What other retailer only relies on remote monitoring without having dedicated LP or "regular" associates/managers trained in LP? How far does that go in protecting the company against losses? You can't sit 1000 miles away, reach through the cameras and nab the crooks.
Oh, offering a "WOW member experience" only goes so far when there is freight to put away, resets to do and legitimate paying customers to serve--all by yourself. I can't babysit a crook for two hours while they wander aimlessly until I inevitably turn my back for fifteen seconds, which by then they're gone and then all of the time and energy of keeping tabs on them is wasted. As soon as I turn my back they will make off like a bandit. They've done it before so many times. Customer service tactics only work on the "novices". The "pros" do not care, in matter of fact they work in teams and love the attention.
Wow...that's just pretty sad.
Shows how much Sears really cares at this point...
