That's what I was thinking. Let's say the average salary for category managers are $80,000. If BP cuts all CM's, how are any of them going to stay in Sidney and make the same salary......they aren't. Simple as that. Tell me again how Sidney will survive!?!?!?
This article seems to think "a job is a job."
That's just not the case. Let's not kid ourselves, Cabela's made a lot of people with minimal education very rich or a least solidly middle-class. The company had a lot of jobs that paid close to six-figures. That's why the town has so many homes in the $200k -$500K range.
The new jobs that are being added are not jobs you can comfortably raise a couple of kids and have a nice house.
