I spent a few yrs in Malaysia and really enjoyed it. Nice weather, great food, fascinating oriental way of life at times, remnants of tropical colonial times still exist, multi-cultural, etc. My biggest problem were the oilfield a--holes who acted like loud, immature thugs with no sense of refinement.
Save your money. Some day you'll need it. And don't sell your house. You'll need that too.
Remember to sublet your company house and get a salary boost!
