Because most of WS people are just bad. Script kiddies with no technical knowledge or ability to think for themselves. Lazy internal logistics taking months to get new employees access, but if someone stands over their shoulder can happen in 5 minutes. Sales Engineers that refuse to train on a product and give away equipment (50k+) for basically free to get a sale on the companies dime. This has been a long time coming.
I guess this is all a result of the constant layoffs in an environment such as this you tend to only be left with the bottom of the barrel. It really could be so much more bur predatory execs have moved in to drain the bit of life force (money) left in the company under the ruse that they are trying to change things. There's a reason this is a common practice.
This hits the nail on the head, @Psm51BK-2qlm. Continuous layoffs have brought Windstream to a point where most of the good employees are gone, and what is left is running it into the ground. The few remaining good ones will be gone soon enough, and then WS will truly realize the mistake they made.
