Cash/Inventory Crunch - Take Action Independents!

For those of you that have a winter parts season, you better stock up. There are imminent cash-flow issues on the near horizon. Some suppliers have not been paid in months and are placing AAP on COD or refusing to ship at all. Company stores are heavily stockpiling winter items before the independents catch on.

Noticing any hiccups in the supply chain?

Being told not to post Inventory received is not a best in class approach to accurate inventory on hand.

What a cluster and no wonder there as so many inventory cycle counts needed from corporate and an inability to put the product in the customer's hands due to inventory inaccuracies.

Wow, you guys must be new... Been at AAP for 12 years now and receiving winter stock early on is nothing new. Happens most years at the end of September or beginning of October. My store actually had 2 8ft pallets of ice melt sent to us a few years back. I'd also like to know where you received your info about AAP owing vendors and having to pay COD for inventory.

Just received 9 skids of winter goods at my store. No one seems to know why? Anyone else?

My store has been receiving stockpiles of winter items for weeks. Was told by the DM not to post to inventory so that the independents do not have visibility. Somethings going on.
