Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

No layoffs other than occasional pruning of underperformers

If you are a bottom 5%, expect to be cut at anytime. This happens at all companies. Don’t believe the booted sour grapes posting here frequently who claim to have jobs paying more than they used to get at Cisco. Why do such losers keep coming here time and time again?

Totally false statement.

How many people here have seen high performers (top 10%) shown the door in the last 2-3 years layoff cycles? The bottom 5% is no longer the single most important criteria. Now it's about your age, grade, years of service and what you earn.

If you agree, reply with a +1. If you disagree, reply with a -1.

As a poster of how life after Cisco is better, I'm not sour. I was a top performer when I voluntarily resigned and continue to be in my new role. My compensation over the last few years, in total, is more than 300% what I'd have pulled in at Cisco over the same time period. I wasn't booted, the company was toxic.

That aside, without a performance review, how do you know you aren't the bottom 5%?

Oh boy, the Cisco marketing police are here to 'shape the conversation'. Must be a slow day over at Glassdoor.
