heard back in August there would be 1500 total, with three rounds. We know the first round was in August, making this the second and November the third. With the recent announcement of Cloud and Connectivity, I would not be surprised if the number of employees being laid off has increased. Seems as thought the brought us all together just so they'd be able to get rid of us.

The way of cut throats telecom companies. Use you until they get every last ounce of blood then dump you to the side of the road for automation and cheaper labor overseas. Welcome to Windstream!
Yep...I got laid off too....been out sick then "POOF" no job! My director was laid off as well...
I got laid off today. All thought customer facing employees were the safest but that totally turned out untrue. So sad when the head gives himself a raise for 2017 but salary employees got nothing. Then he got like a 4 million bonus as well. I won't be trying to reapply to WS.
I got laid off this morning and I wasn't in the office at the time. I asked if I could go now to get my stuff and I was told no. Then I heard the manager that called to tell me I was let go was terminated after she made all her HR calls! Brutal!
Layoffs really help to boost moral and productivity. If you want proof look at stock price. It directly reflects that. I don't see this company lasting more than 10 years. Get out while you can.
Ridiculous for those of us that got let go that we weren't allowed to gather our belongings before being escorted to the door. No knowledge of when our belongings will be returned to us other than they will try their best to get things mailed to our homes.
A lot more than 15 got laid off today, 5 on my team of about 20 guys were let go this morning. Writing has been on the wall for a while, increased scrutiny and monitoring of employee producitivity. Saw this coming and have a feeling other comments about November might hold water. This is inevitable when they're melting together many acquired companies where there's lots of overlap in all facets of operations, personnel and the networks of the companies.
I know of 15 people that have been laid off so far today.
Anyone that claims to know anything about a total is full of crap. And the only layoffs that are every planned that far ahead are ones they like to wrap up under the 'synergies' umbrella from previous acquisitions.
