Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

I work for a wonderful company now

I got the axe back in 2012...i had taken a week off to move into my new home. I got a call to come in for a training seminar on the Wednesday of the week I HAD PRIOR APPROVAL TO TAKE OFF. I didn't have to come in...for all they knew I was using my PTO to travel out of state. But I did come in for the training because I put my all into all into my work.

I had to sit thru 3 hours of training, introduce myself to the New hires as their Quality Assurance rep, explain what and how I'd be assessing them on (remember, I was asked to describe my role in the company to the newbies). Sat thru 3 hours of training...and then was let go after I voluntarily came in while I was on approved PTO.

I was salaried, so of course I wasn't compensated for the time. It was the most despicable thing ever. Windstream is shady, get out while you can because they'll do you dirty in the end. I work for a wonderful company now doing tech support on a small desk. I love it...

I think the point the poster was making is that Windstream is a toxic environment and a cancer to the employees and that the grass is greener on the other side. I think their post is perfect timing, it gives those affected hope. I still have my job, for now, and this stresses me to the point of extreme anxiety.
