Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Vendor portal

I am no longer an employee so I can't log in anymore, but any current employee can. Type your store # into the search area to keep track of your store.

It's no longer accurate because I believe a woman who was laid off back at the beginning of summer was the one who was keeping that information updated. If it wasn't her, then it was someone else on her team, which has largely been decimated. That team is a fraction of the size it once was, so I doubt keeping it updated is a priority any longer.

Sears is known for "stealth" closings and that is straight from a former DM.

Funny...no one is doing anything in a "stealth" manner or means to do so. I am sure it just is that whoever used to update that portal either has too much to do or has moved on. We get a store list in general for Sears and Kmart that I believe is emailed to us. There is nothing new on it.

Last poster is 100% correct. The list is not complete and accurate. Sears continues to do "stealth" closings.

I used to keep track of that site religiously. But they no longer update it accurately. There are stores that closed this month that were never listed on the portal. There is AT LEAST one entire list of Sears stores that were never posted there.
