Thread regarding Chicago Bridge & Iron layoffs

Massive layoffs in building 2 today

If you have had your nose up your bosses rectum you are safe. If you worked for a living pack your boxes. The 6th floor has taken a hit. The main safety boss and environmental lady are still there which is a shame. All of their buddies are still there as well. Amazing you can have so many fatalities last year and still be in charge of safety. I wonder who they will point fingers at when the work doesn't get done this time? I watched at least four from that group go. The one weasel who is always smoking and getting in everyone's business was still there. Quality and procurement are taking a hit as well, I saw a couple of them go as well. Haven't been back since lunch so maybe there are more.

The problem with the company are the high level people who have been there the longest. They are the ones who witnessed the bad choices and did nothing to stop them. Now they are cutting the small people to show the public and creditors they are cost cutting but it's a drop in the bucket when you look at the car leases, jets, country club memberships, legacy Shaw commitments that are still owed and continue to pay. These people are only interested in saving themselves and will do or say anything to accomplish that. Where else can they go? No other company would have them now, there credibility is out the window.

Safety Rules do not apply to the actual HSE personnel or Woodlands Campus. Look at the VP of safety, he was in charge when cbi had the most fatalities on record but he is still there. He instituted the no cell phone use while walking but he walks around the office everyday looking at his cell phone. Him and his little buddy goof off and exchange football memes all day long on the phone. When is the last time a woodlands campus person was drug tested - never. the same rules that apply to you in the field do not apply to us in the woodlands.

Mullen need too:

  1. Clean house

  2. Fire the board, they paid the previous criminal CEO his full value on shares after he drove this company into the ground before he retired. let Columbia extradite him.

  3. Fire the HSE leadership - how much business did we lose from fatalities that we are frozen out of bids with the majors?

  4. Fire the incompetence over quality.

  5. Get rid of fat man loud mouth over FS and all of his yes men, all afraid to speak up when fat mans blood glucose gets low and he gets grumpy. Send him off to the happy buffet and be done with it.

  6. Innovation is a joke when most of the leaders are stuck in the stone age way of thinking and wont accept it.

  7. Get rid of Cintellate biggest pile of crap for incident management on the planet but they have spent so much money on it nobody wants to change course

  8. Get CMS under control - anybody can write a CMS procedure and make it "law" and it is an effective way to handcuff ourselves from being successful

  9. Sales wtf are they doing? get out and get some sales stop giving out branded golf chairs and get to work. The clown over that group is a joke and his british admin to boot.

  10. Get rid of the executive vehicle leases paid by the company - they haven't earned it for their piss poor leadership. Go to the parking garage and look at all of the vehicles employees pay for, plus they get reserved parking

  11. add some actual seats to use during lunch break, forget the rule that you cant use a conference room for lunch. where else do we sit, oh thats right at our desk and keep working

Why doesn't the rule for safety infractions apply to Safety Personnel and only to Project Management? Safety Dept should be held accountable.

Mullen needs to :

1) cut Exe VP of FS and his right hands that refuse to think about what's in best interest of CBI.

2) Stop forcing projects to use CBI shops.

3) Realign entire structure after sale.

4) Remove the illusion of "Innovation".

5) Increase transparency from highest level downward.

6) Align Engineering, Procurement and Construction all hands on deck. Cut the BS.

7) Make Engineering and Procurement rotate appropriately into the field.

8) Stop positioning CTPs in key positions.

9) Stop hiring your Cousins, Brothers and In-Laws.

10) Stop creating additional restrictive policies that ties your hands.

11) Take Lessons Learned into account before you recreate them again.

12) Remove the focus that are not accountable nor productive at each level of management.

13) Identify training programs for non CTP ....the rest of the work force.

14) Revamp the hiring process to recruit high caliber folks. Increase your female workforce. They possess different problem solving skills.

15) The sales Team must be fired and hire innovative thought provocative doers.

16) stop changing Systems and tools in middle of project execution.

17) involve the folks in the trenches in strategy meetings.

18) stop the threat's from upper mgmt

19) Fire Material link

20) Fire Supply Chain or put them on stanndby. Make them understand what they are supporting.
