Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Any confirmed LR date?

I have heard "end of month" a few times but nothing solid.

Anyone have any better data?

To be honest, I've not heard of any LR on the immediate horizon, but like most I was hugely surprised there was nothing announced in the FY17 year end earnings call to Wall Street. That said, the company is struggling along and cutting more jobs is a quick win so I can understand why many employees are on edge and constantly looking over their shoulders for an announcement of the next LR. We typically dont have very long to wait but are enjoying the respite afforded to us during the last earnings call.

Oct Fifth... Simple math. Declining Revenue - People Expenses = Stable EPS. Fat cats are leveraging overseas $$$ to lengthen that runway so they can line their pockets all along the way. This is not a company interested in innovation or capable of execution but rather pillaging from accumulated successes of the past, created by folks like you and I

They only announce big layoffs when the do the figures if the #layoffs they are planning need to be announced i.e. they are substantial enough to affect the earnings call. So if they do dribs and drabs over the year they don't need to announce them.

I suspect this is the way forward from now on. Lots of little LRs where there isn't a legal requirement to announce them.

By the way, most big companies are continually doing this.

Is LR expected to be company wide or YK's SPBU only? Cisco's SP business is in deep trouble so wondering.

All countries are different. You need to be specific about where you are.
