Thread regarding CGG Veritas layoffs

Checks and balances!

Oslo's seismic imaging department was Ok (during the last two years) because of a big multi client processing project (North Viking Graben). They didn't do anything big or even medium size for external clients this year. Apparently the management has decided to forward most of the remaining jobs to Crawley office by the end of year. So their service in Oslo is no longer required! Why? checks and balances!

They will kill all overseas offices in order to save employment in France. That's for sure

Yes, these are the motivations of the current management. If the restructure goes through there will be a new board. Possibly they will want a new management team (well wouldn't you?). With that will be new plans. No one is safe until CGG learns how to make money.

So you mean they almost killed Oslo to save Crawley center? It makes sense to me!
