Conference Call Bridge Discontinued

The latest victim of the Cost Savings effort is the conference calling phone facility. Supposed to be saving $200K per year.

Are we now a company who cannot afford the basic calling facility ? What' next ? Get your own coffee and toilet paper ?

Is there anything else to show for the upcoming 1 year CEO anniversary ?

This change added features, it did not remove them. And, the post about the $3MM savings is correct.

In fact, this is a change that was long overdue - get people off of "conference calls" and onto modern, cloud-based, mobile app-enabled conference tools. Sure, you can still dial in with an 800 number, or you can use a mobile app to join the WebEx - you choose: 1970s method or 2010s method.

Unfortunately, the company has broken up the team that proposed and delivered this change.

Sabre can save a few million by making cuts like these and some more through the headcount reductions coming up in October.

However, the fact remains that Sabre is years behind the competition such as Amadeus and is continuing to lose market share over the years.

With no strategy in place to address the key issue of innovation and new products, I don't see us coming out of the rut we are in and have been in for the past few years

Enjoy the ride while it lasts. Cheers !!!

Also, my understanding is that we'll keep all functionalities. There will be some transition time and thanks to moving to new calling tech Sabre is going to have savings. That sounds much, much better than other cuts.

Not per year. It is $250,000 per month. It is $3,000,000 per year. It is $25 per employee per month.
