Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Bartlesville and Dallas played key role for Conocophillips.

ConocoPhillips demonstrated the ability to run the company and close August sales remotely. Personnel were shifted to Dallas and Bartlesville to accomplish these tasks during hurricane Harvey. This demonstrates communication and various business functions can be shifted to communication centers located outside Houston when the need arises. Will this possibly save Bartlesville from inevitable closure? Many believe this only demonstrates that there is less need to continue to support Bartlesville since this type of support service can be set up and done at any number of communication centers.

Lean independents don't have two administrative centres and services need to be sitting next to operations. Shared services are a recipe for mediocrity at a time when the business needs exceptional service group support.

Stop living in denial, Bville will continue to operate as long as there are high ranking baby boomers there who are to stubborn to move. Baby boomers say they listen, but they are just as bad/entitled as millennials. The difference is they are now in charge and think they are justified because they have been around the longest. I know a Baby Boomer will respond and say look millennials are so selfish. Really?
