I've been hearing some rumors and reading it in some posts here and there, but I haven't heard anything official on new Harman layoffs. Has a new round been announced and I somehow missed it, or is this just the usual case of rumor mill working overtime? Any info would be appreciated.

65p jobs are at risk but what seems to have escaped attention is the number of new roles to be created elsewhere, which is significant.
Very real and only time will tell if this makes Harman stronger or if saving money and outsourcing was only helping the bottom line.
It's easy to find info on this - it's all over the web. I can tell you that internally we are very anxious - we do not know what direction all of this will take.
Many stellar engineers have left already, we see some senior mgmt folks leave as well - this tells you a story and I do not think there is anyone at Harman right now who is not concerned for their careers.
We'll see how things pan out in 2018 but the upcoming pipleline looks weak at best. Not sure, not sure...
It's real. 650 ppl throughout US and EU will be let go.
