One of the most toxic environments imaginable. Great employees are punished and shunned, the bad employees are left alone and congratulated. This is confirmed by numerous employees who are intelligent and hard working. Half the management is cold and critical, the other half is warm and friendly. You never know who's on your side and who's destroying you behind your back. They don't care about college degrees or performance, only seniority (if you're qualified and want a promotion but haven't been there for 5 years, you're screwed).
We have a supervisor who lets females get away with anything and lashes out at men like crazy. We have another supervisor who is so distant you can't figure him/her out (not going to give too much of anyone's identity away). People who take phone calls consistently are kicked back in what's known as "Ready" status while people who slack off and avoid work don't get kicked in Ready at all. Ready means you're in the queue taking calls, btw. Absolutely toxic, but the pay isn't bad. This is a microcosm of Sears as a whole.
