There is a Bass Pro and a Cabela's in Oklahoma City. Bass Pro is downtown and Cabela's is on the northeast side of town. It makes no sense to keep both of them.

But isn't that true no matter where you work? The exec's can kick you to the curb and anytime.

If you were Jim's age, what would you do? Keep working? No way.....

Thousands of people who placed their lives and trust in the legacy of this once legendary brand are now sitting under the burden of uncertainty and personal debt......This is called blind loyalty!!!! I was with Cabela's for over 15 years before I took the blinders off. Cabela's didn't care anymore about people or their wellbeing. Tommy and crew were solely focused on the almighty dollar! I got out before things went south, sold my house etc.!!! The ones sticking it out because they thought Cabela's would take care of them....come on!! BP has a stranglehold on Sidney and all Cabela's. If you didn't want to see/believe this, then you were lying to yourself. It is a sad situation, but blaming Tommy, BP or the Cabela's family, when you should blame yourself for not taking off the blinders sooner and getting out!

There is nothing legendary left about Cabelas after the sale to Bass Pro

Jim, Mary and share holders made their money by selling their legacy and are sitting on millions of dollars cash piles.

Thousands of people who placed their lives and trust in the legacy of this once legendary brand are now sitting under the burden of uncertainty and personal debt.

While Jim is hoarding his debt to make another big name under charitable trust while the ones who worked hard for him are facing uncertain future and possible bankruptcies.

I would think, out of respect for the Cabela legend, they will keep the Sidney store. It all started here, and Is a portion now, of BP legend. People off of the interstate regularly stop in Sidney to browse the isles, a sort of tradition in many customers eyes.

These decisions will solely based on historical performance metrics. If there's a Bass Pro and a Cabela's in the same market and they are both performing above the line, they'll keep both. Low performing Cabelas and BP stores are the ones that will be closed.

Sidney store is bound to close..

The ones who make the purchases in at Sidney are mostly employees with discounts

Why you need a store in middle of nowhere when people can buy gear online at better prices...

If I was sitting in Springfield and making decisions, my first closure would be Hazelwood, then Anchorage.
