So I checked other companies on this site. All the companies seem to have layoff simultaneously. So clearly this site is sh--. Glad I realised this after so much time browsing this while 💩 in toilet. Btw so many men in qcom but #restrooms for men vs women is same. Have to climb so many floors sometimes.

If I am told by a manager that I am in stage 2 or 3 of the post merger reduction, then what am I supposed to be? An optimist? Am I supposed to sing and dance in the rain like Gene Kelly?
The job market in SD is basically non-existent for my speciality. I am sure I can find another job, but outside of my domain, so probably at 30-40% less pay. That would be fine, but I have mortgage payments. The day I get fired is the day I go bankrupt.
Remember to wash your fingers after shutting!
More realists than pessimists. Layoffs are coming. Management will wait till the last day possible to tell folks. They will pretend everything is great till they no longer need you. Don't be so naive.
The company culture is toxic. It's more like government : the management cares much more about your loyalty than the real work. So, the pet style employee got awarded. If you pay attention to the engineers who left, you will find that they are really good engineers. I have no idea how to be optimistic to such company.
It will go down for sure, no doubt. Come to Bay Area and you will have much better opportunities!
I agree there are many pessimists here however realistically QC is in trouble. This is probably the worst legal position I’ve ever seen. I have prepared a six month emergency fund and a job search strategy in the event of layoff. I hope it does not happen but I am prepared.
