Points awarded for importantly declaring official Aramco policy towards expats.

Nothing we didnt figure out but still good to hear it.

Lot of job boards that post needs to be added to. Gonna be a busy week.

I saw what was done there. True or False is a very confusing question.

It is true that the lies start in the recruiting process and grow from there.

I am sure that this answer makes logical sense (way way) down in the mental fog that you live and work in but it really does not explain the trickle of benefits to one group but not the other. It also does not explain the retention of and promotion of low and no performers in the context of pretending to be running a business to the world.

It does explain why and who is being laid off which has nothing to do with trailers or qualifications or performance.

In the future you morons need to share this policy at the damn interview and save you and us and our families a LOT of time and trouble.

CLearly there are expat individuals with limited understanding of company policy on composition of the workforce in Saudi Arabia. Expat manpower will be used when qualified Saudis are not available. Saudis will be maximized at all levels. Clearly you don’t understand the difference between local and expat contract employment terms.

40,000+ saudis on the payroll. 1/3 of our community is empty and not a single saudi employee let go or laid off? That is DEFINITELY layoff by nationality.

Cousin offspring or playing dumb?

Isn't that similar to the 2012-2014 "bonus by nationality" program where Saudis get annual bonus all at once and Non-Saudis get 1/3 one year, 1/3 next year, 1/3 two years away?

True or false?

I have never heard of a Saudi let go regardless of his performance and there are quite a few poor performers :)..... I don’t think anyone has.

No we do not ALL know that. Your entire narrative has been scaremongering with little of what you claimed was going to happen actually happening. Clearly you have been unable to find employment since you were let go.

Keep saying it. Here or there, we all know that Aramco has ONLY laid off westerners and a very few Asians. No Saudi employees have been let go or laid off. Now tell us that this is because a small group of 5% of the employees have 100% of the low performers. With a straight face.

Whatever gets said here got earned when Saudi Aramco started the "layoff by nationality" program then the special bus for locals pulled in to defend it.

You should push yourself importantly to the front of the line and file a complaint.

Im sure someone will need to type up the complaint letter for your retard a$$ to sign. Wonder whose lap that might get dumped into. LOL

Its interesting that any derogatory comments about Saudis and others are allowed to remain on this thread, but reciprocal comments about Americans/US to expose the hypocrisy are deleted. Clearly the administrator of this site condones blatant racism.

Special treatment: Saudi B assigns Saudi A something to do. Saudi A rushes off importantly to find the nearest American lap to dump his work into. He hounds the American until it gets done then rushes importantly back to Saudi B who takes Saudi A and the work and rushes it importantly to Saudi C for their annual reward based on look how much work we got done.

Return to line one.

They all run together after awhile so it's easier just to number them or assign them an initial.

Expats working for Aramco are the last of the mohicans. The company is sinking. I don't think anyone can dispute that.. hell even the Saudis admit it. Such a shame though cause it used to be such a good company built by the Americans, and yet the Saudis succeded in screwing it up. Typical Arab way of doing things...

Dozens is actually routine for an organization the size of Saudi Aramco. and Americans are not "marked", they are just not treated as "special" anymore and are subject to performance reviews the same as the rest of the workforce. This feeling of entitlement by some US expats reflects badly on those who do effectively contribute to the company.

There have been dozens of layoffs in the last couple of months. They do it like that bacause it takes them so long to get people processed out. It takes 20+ different departments to get one person cleared. So stop downplaying it. If you're western and especially American you're marked.

Still nothing. No mass layoffs, just normal attrition and hiring. Life goes on.

I know that you can show up in an office for years, do nothing, attach your name to someone elses work, rob the company blind, and move right up through the ranks into the ever growing management pool while getting rewarded at every step. So every time the question of how bad do you have to be comes to mind I get floored by seeing new lows. So right now thats an open question.

To get laid off? Simply takes - people who are laid off won't backdate documents, or cover up incidents. They won't fudge numbers to hide or cover up business gaps. They won't close CRM requests until the work gets done. They won't lie to auditors.

Organizations often fail because they believe and create lies and images on such a scale that they lose the capacity for the truth. The lie that these people who move up doing nothing suddenly discover hidden performance problems from people who were vetted for months and demonstrated successful careers in former jobs is one example, but if it makes you feel better to label them as unwashed trailer trash by all means add that to the steaming pile. You know better, we all do. Just as you know full well that a company who cannot afford coffee cannot afford westerners either. Too busy handing away 25% of their production at a loss.

Thanks for playing - cupcake.

How bad do you have to be to get let go of from a place like that?

The premium salaries for Americans are a holdover from when the company was run by Americans.

Pretty bad place when you have to pay a hefty premium to gull someone out of a trailer park.

See thats the problem when you can't afford the best. You are limited to trolling asia and trailer parks for candidates. No wonder a little group of raggedy frackers is kicking their a$$ in the oil market

High level detainments made under the guise of "corruption" is common in countries run by monocracies. The crown prince is consolidating power before be is anointed King. This is how it is done in tribal societies, round up those that could cause trouble and place them in house arrest. In recent years they were executed. This is probably not the end and expect more arrests and possible backlash from the conservative right that want the status quo in KSA to continue. Hopefully the country does not unravel into fighting and chaos.

Saudi Aramco has always had a young educated workforce, some of whom today are now VP, Managers, etc. Work ethic is still an issue. As are “initiatives”, far too many, totally ineffective and OE is a paper tiger.

The other difference is the Saudis now have a young highly educated population who want to work so why pay yanks or brits to do what they can do, unless your an expert in your field id start selling up.

It’s really not true that Saudi Aramco was considered a job for life, even when it was Aramco there used to be periodic “surplus” to rebalance manning levels. The main difference this time is that it is impacting US hires a little more than other nationalities. US Hires became complacent about their skills set and Indian or European skill sets and definitely work ethic have outpaced US.

It’s not normal for Saudi Aramco used to be job for life regardless of if you knew how to tie your shoes or not. Probably best to leave anyway the coming collapse of the house of Saud will mean no eos benefits anyway, staying is playing Russian roulette on a daily basis, the bookie always wins! Goodluck mugs

Ahh, you mean low performers. That makes sense to have such a list. Isn’t that normal?

True attrition is high, because turnover is high. Turnover is high because face it - It's a dump and living conditions are deteriorating. But nonetheless - there IS an HR list and people on that list are being targeted and dismissed a few at a time.

Trickling is just normal attrition...there are also new hires trickling in...

by

Packages are trickling and one by one families are selling out and leaving. It's quiet because Aramco is deliberately keeping a lid on it.

It is happening though.
