Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Layoffs

Typically UOPX layoffs occur before Thanksgiving does anyone know if more campuses and learning centers are closing? At last tally we declared 36 locations as "teach out" is there more?

Staff were notified yesterday that their last day would be 11/24. Many were tenured employees with good knowledge base of the systems and past business processes.

The president was smart with his words. No major layoffs. Meaning at his hand but the small layoffs from VPs and Directors will happen. This is how it works. They give out the budgets then let other leaders make the calls. Takes away the direct connection. Trust me they want their investment back and 40%. Who wouldn’t. Run.

UOPX leadership, and I use that term very loosely, also said there would be no layoffs after the purchase and yet, here we are 7 months later and there were more layoffs. There will always be layoffs there until they start increasing enrollment numbers.

You believe Cohen?! What is wrong 2ith you? They are gonna lay off. Enrollments dont match staff so they are gonna cut staff.

Y'all have to be absolutely delusional to believe ANYTHING that those minions say. Apply for another job before you end up getting laid off. I do not know how people can continue to be blind sheep when it comes to UOP.

He actually said that no institutional level layoffs are planned, but that he didn’t know about small actions in the various departments and also, that staffing levels will need to be in alignment with enrollment levels and available technolgy. So, nothing major is planned but of course things may happen here and there.

Sounds pretty honest to me.

With all the campus closures theres bound to be layoffs. They dont need fully staffed buildings if the campus is on teachout. Be logical and look for another job.

He did say he invested a substantial amount of his own money into the college. How does one do that if we're a private company?

Come on... they have always said no closures or layoffs are planned. It is quite sad that people continue to believe that.
