Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Run a 100 billion business into a ditch and then rewrite history

If you have a subscription to Harvard Business Review you can read a fascinating article how to transform a tired old conglomerate into a fast pace digital company. See the link:

https://hbr.org/2017/09/inside-ges-transformation#how-i-remade-ge

This Harvard MBA graduate is a top leader and successful change agent. He is a little bit misunderstood now so he felt the need to write the narrative so in the future when everyone sees he was a outstanding visionary they can refer back to his insightful article. If that doesn't work then he plans to donate some of the well deserved money he was given by the visionary board of directors to his alma mater Harvard and get a building named in his honor. This should get him the respect he so craves from his more successful classmates. As Clint Eastwood so eloquently said it "the man is legend in his own mind"

So now you're blaming GE's troubles on President Trump, too? No wonder this company is going down the toilet. It's not my fault GE bet its future on the loser named Hillary. Doubling down on stupid is not a sustainable business strategy.

From HBR - "Now people are calling us a 125-year-old start-up"

Who are these people ? Imaginary friends ?

I was able to see that article without a subscription somehow. Wow, he IS a legend in his own mind! No wonder Uber decided "no thanks"

The legend rewrites not only long term history, but even the previous day's. Like when he figured out he had no chance to get the Uber CEO job, this was his tweet:

"I have decided not to pursue a leadership position at Uber. I have immense respect for the company & founders - Travis, Garrett and Ryan."
