if layoffs are coming to schenectady they need to get it over with already, management apparently has nothing better to do other than write people up for petty nonsense

Yeah, 8 hours pay at well beyond competitive rates for 3 hours work has nothing to do with it. GE purchased Alstoms factories/workers to replace our entitled broken down factories. People came to GE because they knew they'd be paid better than anywhere else to do less than anyone else.
That caught up to the factory
Layoffs are happening and have already been happening in Schenectady. Hear of them almost daily. They keep a lot of them quiet. Don’t be fooled.
Typical playbook...when it gets slow, they get stupid. Management is always trying to keep the crew wound up, and divert the attention from themselves and their mistakes. They will never run with a common sense idea from the floor, it would make them look bad, regardless of merit or gain. That's why GE is in trouble across all of the businesses.....they drove it into the ground, not us.
The environment will remain uncertain well into 2018. Even if there is a massive reduction, and you survive it, there is no rest. They'll be back again and again...it's the "knob" GE knows how to turn when times are tough. It is truly pathetic that management led us into this situation, apparently without consequence (see the golden parachutes for Immelt, Bolze, etc), while the people who actually did their job well, day in and day out, are layed off and getting 1 weeks pay for each year of service.
