Aetna Layoffs 2018

I know that people are concerned - don’t be - but I heard from someone pretty high up in our corporate office that they planned layoffs but that plan was abandoned, so we are safe here in Hartford.

The non sr people are treated like robots. Just when we think they hear us and even acknowledge out existence wham!!! The reality that we are just a number hits us in the head. There is truly only one person that matters in our Ceos mind and this HIM. He walks away with a half billion dollars while some of us are in the unemployment line.

What is sad is how the senior people are no longer important. Less experienced are given the opportunities. Better listen to your sr clinicians. Good luck.

Here is some advice: if you are told that you will be eligible for the 2017 bonus, make sure that your manager/supervisor is aware that the bonus isn't automatic, they must still recommend you for the bonus. I was told this by HR after I didn't receive a bonus. My manager never did know what her responsibilities entailed. I usually received a bonus of $3,000 to $5,000 and it certainly would have come in handy after being laid-off. Get a statement in writing from your manager. I wish I had. If you don't get the bonus, according to HR, you are entitled to know why, call your manager for an explanation, hopefully, he/she will return your call.

So much for being safe. Individuals affected by the layoff were notified Monday November 13th and last day is reportedly December 15th. Merry Christmas everyone!

Usually these happen the last week of October so they do not have to offer benefits for the next year. If Layoffs happen it will be next week or the week after.
