As of 7/24, Layoffs have begun. Globally 22,000 or 42 % of the workforce were let go on 7/24/18. . This does not include February layoffs and the New York office closing nor people who have been leaving in droves.
Bring back SL. so the fab 5 can reunite!
SL was truly the only one who knew how to hire thebright people for the right job. The woman was a visionary who needs to be brought back so her ultimate plan to elevate mattel to its former glory can be accomplished.
HAHAHAHAHA! Someone wants to bring back SL, the most hated person in the company (next to SM) and in the entire industry? There aren't going to be "layoffs" in El Segundo, they're going to fire everyone, shut down the office, burn it to the ground and wait 10,000 years for anything of value to grow out of the tainted soil from the lot.
You have a pestilence in El Segundo and it needs to end. You are all a curse on yourselves, the company, the industry and humankind.

The AG decisions are killing the brand. Wellie Wishers is causing trade down, while putting product with dying retailers has helped them and hurt the AG equity. Until we have leaders that understand how to build brands with kids we are sunk.

JC should be running the show- great hire- just make room for JC to succeed and we all will at least have a shot. I hope they clean house soon- too many people for such a small company.
Hopefully the end for RD. He is most accountable for the 2017 horror show. His big hires from 2015 were a bust(CBS, JV, JC). No value.
Financial sustainability is not possible with current revenue situation, who ( initials only) and what executive positions are next to be ousted. There are plenty of candidates still . Retribution by the stock market is likely for the next 5/6 month time frame. What is everybody hearing? Seek out information. Mattel execs are vulnerable due to performanc and business integrity issues. Put the pressure on them . They are failing miserably.
Equally surprising news: water still wet. Forget 2018, there's plenty of time and reasons for more layoffs in 2017. Q3 results should be a real hoot on Oct 26. AFTER market close, of course. :)
