My husband is working for the company and he's very concerned that job cuts might be coming and that he may lose his job. He works in Little Rock.

Just be aware of their track record, their history of "not"-caring for anything but, the bottom line...Lack of real communication and increasing loss per share should help open eyes to the reality of this company. Thank goodness, I left when I did. Too bad for the fantastic employees at WS. They have been so dedicated to their work and the company. I feel for all of you.
Windstream layoffs happening today, 1/18/2018.
I just heard a rumor that there will be layoffs tomorrow, 11/16/17....
Well if they are, which I don't doubt, they would have to do them the day before, or the day after Thanksgiving. Wouldn't that be wonderful...
FYI....The Truth....Layoffs next week..........all will be affected not just Service Delivery and not just Greenville!!!.
You will get 12 weeks max, and only if you have 10 years plus
Layoffs are coming! One months pay for every year of service. 6 year cap and you must sign a 12 month non compete agreement to get severance package. If you don't sign you'll get one weeks pay for every year with a 6 year cap.
You should tell you husband to be looking for another job- one that doesn’t have layoffs multiple times per year. This is as bad as I’ve ever seen it and I was there through many many layoffs. The best time to get another job is when you have one.
While they used to, this company does not care about its workforce. Think, just prior to this latest wave of layoffs, that started on July, Tony took his family on vacation to the French Alps. These layoffs were planned out before that, and how many jobs could have been saved, for the money he spent?
Bottom line is don't depend on Windstream to be a career oriented company anymore. Nothing wrong with working hard while you're taking a paycheck from them. But don't fool yourself into thinking that they need any one person. There has been a lot of change and dirty moves made this past year by everyone from vice presidents to team leads. And don't think that anyone above you will stick out their neck to save you because they are just as scared. Windstream doesn't have the integrity any more to be able to invest your future into. Just do yourselves a favor and keep your options and your eyes open. Look for another job while the market is still decent.
Anyone that chimes in claiming to know anything about layoffs in 2018 would be 100% speculating. The best you can do is to plan for the worst and hope for the best. Or look for a job with better job security. Don't waste time stressing about it, take action to account for it. Best of luck.
