what time does second shift start..GE is trying to sell Predix and other manufacturing tools to suppliers. There were over 200 suppliers at Schenectady over the past two days , Tuesday and Wednesday. Get back to work in 273 and stop worrying they will never totally close that factory.

Why do I get the feeling that this ship is sinking and the lifeboats have been sold from under our feet?

I am a GE Supplier and @PILkwr1-ork is very correct. GE's competition has better pay terms and they get better prices. GE sourcing nuts try to claim savings by forcing suppliers to show discounts or extended payment terms. Simply stupid!!!!!! We add the percentage back and a finance fee to handle the dumb payment terms. GE sourcing nuts then run to their bosses and claim savings. It's hilarious. GE is paying for their stupidity. There is no such thing as a free lunch...... GE is NOT a preferred vendor and does NOT get preferred prices.

GE supplier conference, GE was giving tours. Crying the blues times are tough , wanting concessions on payment terms, rebate programs, partners in growth. No worries, if you think employees are treated like crap. Think about the suppliers. Eventually, the suppliers will be packaging the equipment in $100 bills. Funny, thing is most of the suppliers are more interested in helping the competition , why because they know how to run their business's and their payment terms are much better. GE 's has tried every trick in the book, reverse e auctions, rebate programs, supplier agreements. It is all bulls_it. All GE is doing is making the supplier more and more non-dependent on GE. As a fellow supplier mentioned to me 10 years ago, GE is good putting you out business if you let them. Look you got no volume right now , therefore you got no leverage.
