Thread regarding Cognizant layoffs

Slowdown in 2018, possible layoffs

The whole industry is slowing down, big time. Not sure what's happening and how Cognizant will be affected - the fact is, it's uncertain and it may get worse before it gets better. India is hurting big time, just because we are so big and there are millions of employees working for major tech companies - anyhow, let's see what 2018 brings, I hope it's better than 2017.

The outlook, which surveyed 500 IT employers across India, shows that hiring intentions have dropped 8% from the last quarter and 23% from the first quarter of 2017, resulting in a net employment outlook of 50%. The Net Employment Outlook is derived by taking the percentage of employers anticipating total employment to increase in the next quarter, and from this subtracting the percentage expecting to see a decrease in employment.

This is what happens when management is blind to simple facts and make a series of mistakes...

  1. They take all kind of possible candidate from whatever capability and their is no distinction between people who are really fit with proper comp sc knowledge and someone just monitor a ticket queue. Everyone moves along same hierarchy and same salary scales... treat everyone as cattle...

  2. You give promotion just by counting number of years...what a nonsensical approach

  3. You do not understand the difference between high value consulting/ system design vs trash works with less profit.... you just want to grow the revenue number

  4. You have zero understanding of the technology world...you have long forgotten you work for tech company...you think man management is the key and create the impression among the employees that you have to be manager to go to next level and development / tech works are most easiest and anybody can do..... you remain self satisfied and do not know or not capable to know what is happening in the industry..

  5. You always go for data , metrics and reports where you always manufacture data... show small tiny things as big achievement to get some brownie point and just save your a--.. For get about what actual value it adds to the company let alone the passion....

Worthless Indian IT leaders made it to this point...
