Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

GE "leaders" are invisible.

They have no idea what is really happening . Get out of your meetings, put your cell phone away , get off your tail and learn the business . Talk to the people you are suppose to be leading. Get rid of permissive time off but also the working remote. People taking way more time off than they should. Working remote people are not really working, they are not getting anything done . Get back to basics. Hold people and yourself accountable and do something about low performers. Quit promoting low performing undeserving people. Know who really is top talent and top performers .

The lab manager position was eliminated about 6 months ago at the GRC. It was replaced with a TOL role but only half the positions. So around 50% of the managers had to find new roles and some were laid off. The GRC is a pretty flat organization.

I would love to know what all the managers at GRC are doing. There are very few employees left. The managers seem to skate through all the layoffs. Useless bunch of hot air balloons.

Seems like this posting wants to blame management. I feel the same way about many of management and GE's policies. The ones mentioned in original posting are actually been proven to be more productive. Many highly successful companies use those policies (might be poster has a little bit of jealousy) . GE's issues are the culture that was created within their management over many years. New CEO may be able to turn things around in that area but he is part of that culture himself. Only time will tell. As unfair as it is i believe our only options are clear, we can leave or try to fix what we think is wrong. Personally at my level i believe it would be best to leave and wish my fellow employees good luck.

I've never seen a bigger bunch of poorly-talented losers. Leadership skills are totally non-existent and management ability is laughable.
