Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

It's not the end of the world. Get up and stop crying

I'm going to be very frank with everyone who lost their job; be an adult and move on. I don't work for Citrix, but I have been laid off before. Get on UC immediately, start writing that resume, and blast it to recruiters. I guarantee (unless you're crap at what you do) you'll all get hired within a few months. It may involve a move, it may involve a lower salary. You're going to have to come to terms with that, but you're only going to stay unemployed for as long as you want to.

The sooner you realize there is no loyalty to the employee anymore is the day you free yourself from stress like this and are able to find high-paying and rewarding positions elsewhere. No company hires employees and thinks of them as family anymore. You shouldn't do the same.

You've got a technical background at a major enterprise-serving company. Act like it.

@PB62rmW-vfg UC = Unemployment Compensation. Could be called something different depending on the country.

@PB62rmW-bhl Call them a d--k if you want, but you're just part of the same problem. Stop investing emotions in companies that don't deserve them. We work in IT for Pete's sake. We all know how fast things move and markets change, yet we get so mad when it does.

What a d--k... I just went through a layoff a few months ago and you're minimizing the hell out of it. "May involve a move", "get over it" people have a right to be upset that they may have to uproot their families just because some executives decided to change direction. In my case I was laid off because my company lost a big contract. They knew for years that they needed to compensate for the size of the contract with new sales but failed to do so. In addition, they began spending money in directions that provided no results. It's disheartening to end up back in the job market and in the hands of recruiters due to irresponsible leadership, and it really is a kick in the gut when you live in an area with a job market as competitive as South Florida. Good luck to all those affected and I hope you find even better roles. Citrix used to be a great company to work for, I used to work there. In recent years their culture has changed drastically and I think eventually that change in culture will hurt the business as a whole.
