Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Is Elliott Management preparing a sale?

This clean up surely looks like they want to drop the cost so we can be sold.

What are your thoughts?

What happens to our rsu if we get bought out?

Do we lose them unless they have vested?

Citrix is dead if MSFT gets into the market. Who will buy Citrix is the RDS product starts to work?

Look where the money is. Dell has Silver Lake Partners. SLP has a fund that can grab up CTXS. They tried back in 2015 to acquire CTXS before going with EMC for VMW. Now who is the latest board member... A guy who was a former partner with Silver Lake... Will MSFT step in to protect their gravy train if Dell steps up. Who knows. CTXS buyout target is $15B and SLP New buyout fund is $15B https://www.financierworldwide.com/silver-lake-raises-15bn-fund-for-new-tech-deals/

I bet $100 they are going private...

https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/CTXS?p=CTXS

There market cap is $11.844B... not many can afford them. (EV is $11.68B)

They have 1.36B total cash...

EBITDA is just shy of $1B

Profit margin is modest but low... 13.61%

I could keep going, but reality is Citrix is healthy, they are just beholden to the street and their shareholders.

Compare this to VMW... Let's just say they are 2x bigger.

My bets:

  1. They spin out Sharefile

  2. They go private

If acquired... it will either be VMW but they need to free themselves of Dell for that to happen or MSFT. Cisco could be a player...

Buying Citrix?

Too expensive..I would say.

Chopped up maybe.

No they just want a stock increase as they promised the public is my take...but pretty confused why they kill so much dev teams..

Sharefile and Podio and Raleigh make sense as they obviously were running there business outside the business with a totally different expense policy..I don't want to even know how much that party cost us..

Ha ha... Competitors get snatched up all the time. With this most recent layoff and with a CFO in the drivers seat working the bottom line... It would come as no surprise to see the stock climb a few percentage points and position the company for a $10-15 Billion sale. The pool of companies that can pony up that kind of money will be small and you will be in the know if you check SEC filings.

Citrix has burnt and rising from the ashes is Sh--rix

Yep, that's all that's going on - they want to unload us. In the mean time, they will load us with debt, use the money borrowed to fill their coffers before unloading us....

They want to look profitable so they can be sold. It's no secret.

Absolutely. That's what it's looked like since 2015.

What’s the buyer going to get? Some old code and two bit devs in China?
