I've never met someone who got laid off and their lives went into the toilet. But I couldn't tell you how many friends who have said "It was the best thing that ever happened to me!" (Myself included.) It doesn't make it hurt any worse right now, but so often you're getting shown the door that you should have opened yourself, years ago. Particularly when it comes to a dysfunctional company like Citrix.
