Leadership in the systems area has been unhinged for the last 6 or 7 years, ever since the banking system crashed and they decided to pull their investments out of the market and dump them into revitalizing it's IT department.
As far as I can tell, they've mostly just made it worse. All that money -- hundreds of millions of dollars -- and it's harder to get a project done today than it ever has been. Christ, that whole debacle with ISD -- don't even get me started. Now they're doing something called vivify... no one knows what the hell it is, only that it means more people are probably being let go or forced to relocate.
