Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Six months instead of a year before deactivation

Many online faculty were not scheduled for classes for six months, then shocked, after years of great peer reviews, attending faculty workshops and training without pay, and positive SEOCS, to get an email saying that because they hadn't taught for over six months they could reapply for a faculty position but that they were now deactivated, as though this were their choice. That is all perfectly legal, though slimy at best. It used to be one year, then they lowered it to six months to eliminate faculty they really didn't need.

Thanks you for posting this, @OUDYVVT-5kes! I didn't know UOPX has shortened the period to six months, I need to stay on my toes. Bumped so more people would see this.
