More layoffs????

Getting little freaked out. Can someone confirm if there are going to be more layoffs next week?? Rumors are running through my department after the meeting with the VP.

Where did this thread's posts go about the head of IT and his unethical, potentially illegal, dealings regarding Vocado implementation? No name was mentioned. And nothing from this site has ever been investigated previously.

Quite a few tenured employees were let go yesterday. The university is losing a large knowledge base, but perhaps that is what they want.

With the flood of layoffs lately, is upper management taking notice? Are any changes being instituted? Or is your lack of initiative and morals going to place you (finally) on the chopping block?

CAYC- Vocado will bury UOP. All it will take is a DOE audit. It's a piece of sh!! App and former VPs and current ones own a piece of it. This is why it isn't going away.

IT layoffs slated for tomorrow morning. Who's ready?

Actually, the question should be "can anyone confirm that there will NOT be layoffs....". As long as enrollment continues to decline, layoffs will be the norm, not the exception. You've heard the expression "live each day as if it were your last"? Well, some variant of that applies here at the ol' diploma mill.

Growth is to make the selling price higher and to make uop more marketable

Could the dismantling of UOP be intentional? These decisions don't seem logical if growth is the goal.

Really?? IT??? Confirms the ignorance of management!! Like our applications are working so well. Right?!? Let's get rid of the staff who can upgrade our systems. Idiots.

Don't worry folks. Executives and upper management all have this under control now, like they have for past 7 years.

It would be funny if it weren't so exceptionally sad. Time for executives and upper management to take a hike. Time for a fresh start with new leadership, a word that has been sorely lacking here for so long. Our students certainly deserve much better. Employees who have remained committed to the students deserve better too! Peter?

Yep. Know some people in academics that heard the same thing from management. No one is sure how students are going to be serviced since teams are getting changed all the time ans no one can get caught up.

When I was in Utah I taught at that campus. At that time I think there were 2000+ students ther.

Anyone know what the status of Utah is? At one point they had 3 or 4 different locations. I know they've closed at least two.

Yes sadly i know of 3 people laid off today here at riverpoint. Rumors say people still left at fountainhead might not make the move at all. Fiscal year comes 9/1 layoffs will happen now thru then. And again come november. Dosregard the asshat comment above. Good luck to you.

it has barely begun. The student loan bubble has burst. You didnt think it odd that a trillion dollars in student loans were issued and 40% aren't being repaid?

Or, you dont concern yourself with trivial matters like that?

Its your own industry, one would think you'd have a clue.
