Anyone else hear that ALL delivery drivers were let go today, and that Lowe's is switching to a third party flat bed company? One service manager was walking around saying this at around 3pm today, and all ASMs and HR were in SM's office.

The delivery structure change was NOT a company-wide change. My store was NOT affected by any of the structure changes. However non-CDL Drivers were eligible for raises ( if the updated pay scale dropped them below where they needed to be) and all CDL and non-CDL will go to the sales specialist bonus level starting Q3. CDL pay was already adjusted back in early 2016 to get to a competitive market amount. I think now they're just getting non-CDL drivers in line with being more competitive as well.

Pretty ridiculous the penny pinching this company is going to.
I guess talking to the drivers the other 3rd party pays about $3-5 less per hour and work longer w/ less benefits.
I can't wait until January until my sentence is gone.
My husband and two other drivers were told that Aug. 18th would be their last day. One guy has 15 yrs. Health insurance gone. Cory company taking over. My husband busted his behind for Lowe's and they stabbed him in the back. He loves his job. He worked at the Ypsilanti, mi. Store. Very busy.

This has nothing to do with the truck wreck the other day. It was decided before that happened. But maybe it has to do with North Korea? Yeah, that's it.
I am a flatbed driver and have been told my position has been eliminated too. Last day , end of August

Stores that do not utilize the CDT/CDO operating centers let go of their box truck drivers as Lowe's has moved to a 3rd party delivery. They were given a severance package. Flat bed drivers were not let go.
Stores that have the CDT/CDO in place did not let go of any drivers. And yes, as far as the SSEI bonus goes, those drivers are now on the same tier as specialists so if the store bonuses they get a higher bonus. I have heard that some CDL drivers received a pay increase as Lowe's was not currently paying competitively with the market.

It's because of this.
Apparently the driver was found with some methanphedimines on him and tested positive.
They no longer want to bare the responsibility for incidents like these as the lawsuits and damages are piling up.
Yeah they were also let go at our store. They have till August 18 and then they get a severance pay and they can apply with the 3 Rd party company. From my understanding all of region 8 is doing this. Idk if anybody out side region was also affected. It really s---s because they are the hardest workers.

They just gave our store drivers 2 week notice. Deliveries will be by outside company!
The person isn't lying. Not all drivers were laid off. Some that weren't laid off for pay raises and bumped up in the ssei. It's exactly true. There's so much junk posted from scammers that people can't even believe the truth anymore. This is absolutely true. We don't know how much we are getting yet but we're told we would find out soon. I know that seems unbelievable - given the layoffs - but it's true.
After they gave us the bad news they gave us a pamphlet for DSI logistics in our packet and said we could apply for them but there was limited spots.
Still waiting confirmation from people at my store if this happened or not.
In any event Amazon is hiring 50,000 workers. If you have an Amazon facility near you look in to it.

I was told today low volume Lowes stores will be outsourcing flatbed and box trick delivery while the high volume stores will retain theirs.
It's true. They were given 20 days to find a new job.
