Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Read Most Recnet Comment Under "Q3"

I posted the last comment under this thread. Please read it. Stop thrashing. This is not about you. It is about the changing culture of retail.

I still love the challenge of serving our customers. I hope you will too for your own sake. If you bail on them then you need to move on. I don't mean to sound trite or insensitive but these posts are fueling unnecessary anger. Measure that.

Rather than planning to destroy Lowe's think about how you can become part of the solution and a new direction.

You need to understand that this all isn't whining. Yes, retail is changing. But that does NOT give corporations permission to be abusive to the workers that built their businesses. If employees of one company don't stand up to that abuse, then how can others? Every retail worker needs to take a stand, and customers need to support them. Because in the end, its the customer that gets screwed.

You must be a store manager or recently hired newbie. Ask one of the recently layed off drivers who's average tenure is 20 years.

I assure you. I am not corporate. I am an employee of Lowe's retail. I just have a different point of view and this is my way of dealing with this situation. I will lose as much as each of us but I just have to process things in a more constructive way.

You have it backwards. Lowes is the one bailing. Customers are not better served by having fewer full-time knowledgeable staff.
