Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is this Cisco's way of avoiding WARN?

I have seen several people post that a few were laid off today. This seems to be a pattern lately. Let go of a few people here, a few more there, than wait a few days...rinse and repeat. Should we all be worried that this is their way of avoiding WARN notices having to go out, not to rock the boat too much? Which would put added stress on all of us every single day, wondering who's the next to go.

49*12=588 emps can be laid off in stealth mode in CA per yr without the need for WARN. That wont put a dent in the bloated headcount.

If it affects 50 or more employees in California within a 30-day period, they're required to abide by WARN. If it's 49 in CA and many more in NC and elsewhere, they can go stealth.
