Schlumberger only cares about management and all the s--- ups! (And when they are done with you they will "just no longer need you" Anyone That goes to Houston to train, honestly your just scared of change. Get out as fast as you can f--- it why prolong the inevitable. They are not doing you a favor. It's the other way around. Good luck to my friends in Ponca city.
Yes, the Ponca employees will survive. Other companies will benefit from their talent and experience. The sad part is, a once great company, once great product no longer exists. Schlumberger and the little man with the fast car have seen to it. I too am glad to be gone, but before that guy and Schlumberger took over I would have stayed as long as they needed me.
Like I said..... glad I am out of there. How could they ever know if they never excelled. Good luck with your bit market share numbers.....
Get back to your work, investors are waiting.
You just made my case.....know anything about excelling teamwork?
People who want their companies to care about them are emotionally weak. They are a business and they make decisions based upon what's right for them.
This move was always going to be difficult. When you pay experienced people to leave (retirement package), lay them off or they quit combined with a hostile move, you have trouble. I say that with some experience having been partially responsible for the move from Irvine to Ponca City. This was done in 8 months, in spite of Ponca never making a journal bearing bit before the announcement! Why did it work? Because people (even the Irvine people leaving) cared about the company. Having been one of those people who was offered a package, I am very happy I do not work for them anymore and believe those in Ponca will be better off in their future. Work for a company who cares for their employees.
The manager with a fast car never cared to learn how to handle these events. He enacted a purge in Italy focused on keeping the people who adore him. They hired inexperienced temps instead of recalling the experienced crew except in few exceptional cases where they failed so hard that they had to eat their ego and make the phone call. The same goes for Ponca, and in a process that is much more like artisanship, based on the skills of the people doing the job instead of a true industrialized process where any baboon can do the job after 2 weeks of training, he setup everything for failure to please his management. The same can be said for most of the other manufacturing facilities. This is what? The 4th time that they are trying to have China up and running in the last 10 years and still no meaningful results in a country where they have any kind of cheap expertise available and almost no rules slowing them down. But never doubt that when something like this fails the fault is in the hands of the captain, it's always, from their point of view, a fault of the crew. Other small companies are staffing up hiring the good people. Time to get that severance package and jump ship.
Good riddance really? This is is exactly the kind of attitude that ruined Ponca City plant. The boys in Houston and France are finding out this move will fail, and SCUM will be buying bits from an outside source within a year. They can't even box 10 bits a day so to you amigo I say hahaha!!!
Good riddance better them than us.
I think 3 or 4 already gone in 5th Floor
What segments are in enclave and ponca ?
