I worked at Hoffman for a year and was part of the layoffs at the beginning of the year. It's come to my attention that there are more than just layoffs happening at SHC, especially corporate at Hoffman. There are a lot of upper management shifts, which is rarely ever good for a company. People brought in at the director level or above that are there to 'turn things around' in whichever dept are bailing after a very short time when they realize they won't be able to effectively push against the inertia of the behemoth that is SHC.
Additionally, I still know folks who work there - there have been more than the usual number of firings for reasons that are at best slim, and at worst carried out simply so they don't have to pay severance to people. Keep that in mind when there's rumors of layoffs and we don't see the numbers that we think should. It's likely that there are firings not included in the layoff numbers happening behind the scenes.
