Improve Morale - get back on top!

I left in January because this Intel is not my Intel! Morale is broken, Managers are bitter, employees are bitter. Managers let the good ones go because they are worried that if there is a replacement for them, a younger better smarter option, that they will be let go in the next action so the new manager can take over the torch. As a result the managers are old and bitter and the next generation gets let go on some ridiculous IR that isn't justified or a low stock level knowing this will cause them to get let go.

There is a fix. Fix Morale immediately. Create a position that would be like the principal level positions that is not tied into HR, that only works for the managers and above and not the common employee. This principal would be tasked to go over the job, project, task, etc...to see the pure facts of the case. This person would be assigned, the manager and employee would have to both agree that they feel the person is not biased. If they agree with the manager, the punishment would stand, if they side with the employee, then it should instead push a Improvement plan or whatever onto the manager. These corrupt angry lying and non-supportive managers are ruining Intel.

If the punishment was due to normal stuff like not showing up, too much sick, etc...then it wouldn't go through this process.

This would put faith back into the company like HR should have been doing. Being judged by your peers that understand the issues is much better than a manager that shouldn't be a manager or a manager that doesn't listen or understand what's truly happening.

When I was at intel, my second level manager said the most successful managers are those don't have to do anything, because they successfully mange the group to do everything.

Most useless are second level managers. They neither own anything nor do anything.

So the solution to the morale problem is for every manager to get a manager's pet.

Great.

So each team now requires a babysitter because the manager is incompetent. That's quite an overhead.

Agree !! I experienced the same but move to another group before the frame on me took place. Any ODI on manager that manager should be considered for next vss with MFT score too.
