5 Reasons why Walmart will be the big retail winner this year

Here's the statistics - look them up yourself. But for me, this is proof positive Walmart is on the right track to have a good year:

1) Three stock upgrades from the recognized analysts since Feb 2017.

2) Jan 20th stock was $67.18. Today it closed at $76.02.

3) The average Wall Street analyst stock price target is $80, with the high estimate of $92.

4) In first quarter, Walmart grew U.S. comparable-store sales by 1.4% while online sales jumped y 63%.

5) 2nd quarter looks to be good, as well.

What this means, is that Walmart is on track to have a strong year. I'm extremely pleased with where Walmart is and the prospect for the future.

To the person who wrote the 5 reasons ... As a 20 year WM associate with a stellar performance and reputation, pushed out the door because of my age; I have an understanding of your attitude and the best of luck to you in your career. However, I am incredulous that you have the audacity to publish your views on a site which exists because of the pain inflicted on people in such a cold blooded and uncaring fashion by people who do not live in the world of ordinary people. Do you have no shame?

If WM officers really told the truth to their investors then it would be something like this "People really don't care about saving .15 cents on their total bill if they can avoid having to socialize with people in our stores, Amazon is truly kicking our tails but each year we have to do a restructure/a more politically correct kinder way of saying "firing people" and that the issue has been corrected" WM knows that almost anything you want to buy can be bought online and you can avoid the chaos of getting the kids in and out of the mini van. If you need immediate food or clothing, then yes the brick and mortar is the place for this but for everything else you want. Shop online........."Save Gas Money Live Better"

#SoDevotedToYourComfortZone So what value did you bring to the conversation except insults? Are you that upset that we speak the truth about WM here? You must because you have so much time on your hands because you're a raging virgin with the only s-x you've known is giving fellatio to to WM's CEO and the Board members. I'm pretty sure DMc bleeds WM blue. Does he cum blue too? Only YOU have the answer to that. And it's on your lips.

@Lou C. Ferr

Evidence of bi-polarism with copy and paste functionality. Aren't you that lambasted, depressed and expressive alcoholic who hates snowflake millennials?

Whining last week like self-absorbed, effectuated victim on how Wal-mart has wronged you.

Now, as the chemical balance tilts the meter to the left....all happy and statistically stupefied....now... brimming with antiquated hope that you can keep doing status quo. Mediocrity is a zenith and 'TheLayoff.com' is your soap box?

Are you kidding @umj? This site doesn't have assigned usernames and passwords. The moderator isn't attributing a name! The person submitting the comment puts in a name. Anyone can reuse the name Lou C. Ferr if they want and probably are to troll the early comments made by the person originally using that pseudonym.

@Anonymous Not at All. The moderator accidentally attributed this to me. Really! Serious! I saw it late last night but was too tired to reply.

I don't know if it can be corrected.

Lou? You going soft?

No I agree based on Q1 earnings release and analysts estimates that Walmart looks good this year. I want to see them move faster to compete with Aldi, Lidl, and Amazon, though.
