The "crazy" titles, specific to "leaders" -- have always been useless. Garbage in, Garbage out. There hasn't been leadership at Sears for years, only opportunists who seek a fancy title with a knack for theatrics.
If every person at Sears was fired today, the Stores could (and would) become profitable by simply letting customers come in, make their purchase of some Chinese-made crap, and then drop a dollar or two in a Folger's coffee can -- on the way out.
The difference is that they got rid of a ton of useless positions. There used to be a market leader and then a group of market teams beneath them- market ops, market hardlines, market softlines...pointless. Now instead of getting yelled at on conference calls by the market team, we'll just get yelled at by one district manager.
There is no difference this is a joke, why have them at all, complete waste what do they do for the company or the member... nothing.... they talk metrics , isn't that what a store manager is for and the ASM's should do. Just another thing we store lvl pe-ons know , yet they keep paying these upper management people sitting at a desk typing email telling store they are failing at getting credit... like we already don't know that... thank you captain obvious!!!!!!
What's the difference between a market leader and a district manager? Serious question. I truly don't know.
We have or had both. I couldn't tell the difference. The both look around the store and talk metrics. I forget which one is which but I guess one of them won't be around anymore.
District manager are a waste of payroll... the sgm should take ownership of the store ... not to mention there is a travel ban so they cant even visit the stores do why have any of them
Yes, back to district managers. From my understanding, all of the market teams were eliminated. Our former market leader will now be out district manager, though, so not sure how many people were actually let go.
So it sounds like we used to have district managers....that was the way it was when I was in the stores and then they tried out market managers and are back to district managers.
We had a market leader and two market merch. Now we have a district manager instead.
The market ops people were let go? Did they know?
What was confirmed to me was market softlines and market OPS positions.
What market positions were eliminated, does anyone know?
No they cut district manager positions and made them market leaders :/
Were there more market leaders than district managers when we used to have district managers?
Are they all going or just e select few
Happened in the northeast already this morning.
Yes i have already gotten an email from a market leader that today is their last day
