Hearing from several sources (higher up than me), that something is coming August week 1. Has anyone heard anything? I asked if further staffing reductions or store closure announcements? My main source said that she did not know, but knows something is brewing. Anyone hearing anything?

AST downsizing happening NOW.
I have to say I am feeling very nervous about tomorrow. The reports and meetings on Spring quarter to the board members is on the 11th I believe. Dismissals come a lot on Friday's. The Lazarus's/Macys teams were cut a lot more lean than we are today. I am fearful they will return to their old ways and significantly cut support teams.

I am thinking that maybe they will cut the support team and have the sales associates do all the work. It's been done before and why not do it again.
Agreed that District Merchants are no longer relevant. What do they do anyway?! Make floor plans? That hardly justifies their salaries. Multi-store operations managers should also go away.
I can not see them cutting any further the store management teams. There is nobody as it is! I do agree we may see something with District Managers and possibly HR managers.
I do agree with what is being said about the District Managers, they are their own clique of people. You are either in the inner circle or are not.
The issue I have is direction. The VPSM wants one thing, your DM wants another then the District Leader wants something completely different than the other two. Who do you listen to? To many voices and hands in the pot trying to make informed decisions best for the business and associates. To many layers.

Not sure if August 1 is the precise date, but announcements regarding staffing and store count are indeed coming. Sooner rather than later. Be prepared.
Possible that those useless district teams will be reduced. What do they really do? Idiots don't listen to anything the stores tell them and always critiquing every small issue while ignoring the big ones. Always want to point the finger of blame, when they should be pointing at each other. Especially in the northeast, the district teams think they are part of the Kennedy clan lol
