I was a loyal Aetna employee of almost 22 years. Even though I accepted an early retirement package this past January, my job was eliminated. Sent over seas. So was technically forced to take the ERP. You never hear about white collar jobs going over seas in the news. This layoff/reorg has been in process for some time and is nothing new. Being only 47 I'm in no real position to actually retire. It has been difficult finding work because for 16 years at Aetna I had a very misleading job title of benefits consultant. Finding out that I am not qualified for a Benefits consultant job elsewhere in the industry because the job of a BC outside of Aetna is so much more involved. Years prior to separation I was also reassigned to a new product I was never given proper training or support.

I took the ERP and my job is still available. I wanted to finish off my degree but it's taking longer than expected. It's scary out here.
Maybe you can go back? You can call HR to find out if you can be rehired. I think you can. I've seen some Aetna BC jobs (by title) lately. Rose International gets temp jobs for Aetna some are HR/benefits oriented.
