Hey Al, if you can hear us over there in San Diego, would you mind sending a few of your inflatable pool toys? And maybe some of that California sunshine too?

This was a great thread. Wish I would have read it earlier. Snark Snark
Your prayers will go unanswered like everyone else's.
I pray that you all put half as much effort into donating your time, material, or money to the relief of this region as you do into writing petty, snarky comments. If you were let go, I'm truly sorry. I hope that you find something soon that provides you with more joy than tearing others down. If you weren't let go but wish you were, perhaps find a role with a company whose direction you can better support. Mocking people in the midst of this kind of tragedy is beneath us all. Disagree with the board, or the CEO, or those incompetent middle managers if you need to, but let's try to dial it back a bit cynicism about the floods. They are real. They are serious. These are real people displaced from their homes. You're better than this.
My concern is, how long is it going to be before the Houston Country Club is back up and running? We need our execs well fed and well golfed so that they can focus on the task at hand...selling this failing turd of a company to Exxon.
What are you talking about? The water is still too high for me to take my Porsche more than a few miles. I JUST WANT LIFE BACK!
Right. You can barely see the water from the top of Allison Tower. The little people are lying hangers-on. Let them eat cake.
Texas needs to grab as much federal money as possible from FEMA to offset the decline in oil revenues. Hence exaggerating the extent of the floods - they are only ankle deep in many places. News channels are wildly over-reporting inches of rainfall compared to recorded values
He's too busy interviewing. So far, no luck, but he's still optimistic his skills are transferable and he's had some encouraging words.
