Monday is the day when the next 290 people in GOM/DWEP will find out their status as employees. The GOM is getting smaller and the staff is reducing again. Hopefully this will be the last layoff in the GOMBU for the next several years. Lots of great people there. Good luck!

What's next Chicken little? When will the sky fall next time and where?
-fpzw I missed the news story if they aired anything. How did the layoffs go today in Covington and Houston?
@dvpv, is that new date coincidental or appropriate for the occasion? After the fact, each person will know for sure.
National news teams in Houston last week got wind of impending GOM/DWEP layoffs. Now that is some seriously bad PR.
dcak, In that case you should have nothing to worry about, since you're useless, by your logic you will be kept.
Jeez, I hope there's enough family and friends to fill the remaining positions, or we might have to retain some of the experienced folks, god forbid
The date has been changed twice due to Hurricane Harvey. The new date is now Monday 9/11/2017. What a coincidence!
New date for announcements is Weds., 9/6
Good Luck to everyone in the GGOM !
So what is the new date for the lay-offs to be on?
Evidently @OXrxAnE-rvi was abused when he/she was a child
2mqg, No, not the same person, and not laid off, and my position is closed, so I'm good. Thanks for thinking of me though, sweetie!
@1wpa, Even if the Houston offices are closed Monday through Wednesday, the plotting and conspiring will not stop. This gives management more time to grind their blood thirsty axe.
So how do you get laid 0ff if the office is going to be closed on Monday? Probably will be closed at least Tuesday and Wednesday too. Hopefully (or not) the streets and highways will be open by Thursday in Houston.
HOW TO CHECK IF YOU ARE ESP:
Go to outlook and see what groups you belong to and you can see if you have been selected for ESP.
You can see if others have been selected also by seeing if they belong to ESP Group.
You bet, @plf. All employees who get laid off at Chevron due to "lack of work" will get the standard severance package; 2 weeks pay per eligible service year (8 weeks minimum and 52 weeks max). Of course, the IRS will swoop in for the kill since the layoff is taking place in the latter half of the year and taxes will be levied on your regular pay to date, plus pay for unused vacation on top of the severance. If you take State unemployment benefits this year too, add that amount to the IRS's haul.
Lol 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Get rid of them all. Disgraceful business unit with hateful children working there. Typical of the area.
Are they getting a severance?
They can use the severance package to rebuild their hurricane-shattered lives.
I wish all you guys well. What timing... right behind a hurricane! ...a real one two punch.
Gom d&c has been cut from 230 to 100 to 45 in 2 years. The remaining staff are just a token presence. Its a matter of time until all d&c is in Houston. RIP Covington d&c its like we hardly knew ye...
Thanks so much Dave and john!!!
