Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Blind app

There is an iPhone app called Blind where you can post stuff about your company anonymously, but only folks in your company can see. It needs a company email to join - inside the app you are anonymous. I think it is a much better platform to discuss these things than a public forum.

Quite popular in the silicon valley - people use it to discuss salary, performance rating, teams, etc. Anonymous conversations give leverage to negotiate salaries, and choose the right teams and also understand appraisals. I m in the app, it needs 30 people to recognize the company and create its board. Currently, ConocoPhillips has 7.

I would request you to join the app.

well-spotted, -1zpy.

and obvious evidence of why "our management" are not "our betters".

nobody in the real world would post such a thing (let alone fall for it)...I suppose some hi-pot had a bright idea & thought he/she'd serve up some non-believers for the coming sacrifice to offset the obvious cluelessness of their own existence.

sorry, hi-pot...

you should first get a clue...and, then, apply it in the context of reality.

you've failed on both counts...needs improvement!

Most likely this is posted by management to help find out who likes to complain.

Posters, y'all are wrong here. This is for the executives, because they make the policies, but don't abide by the policies. So they don't have to worry about getting caught or doing wrong, because they are perfect.

OP - that stuff is super dangerous - basically your employment contract and a sh--load of internal policies explicitly state that you cannot do the exact things that you suggest we do (all while registered with our Conoco's email address)... I am super careful with thelayoff.com

OP is right but there is this app called Tinder and you could do all these things plus a "whole" lot of fun 🤣.

OP, you do know that the company monitors EVERYTHING you say, do, or upload/download on a company device, right? And if you identify yourself externally with your company email this can be supoena'd? What you say externally may not hold up in court, but it would definitely get you on the next severance list or worse, fired.

You are encouraging us to register our company email on a external site where we talk about the company? Good luck with that!!!

Ok, I'll do it, and post only lies about how great our management is. LOL.

You have to register with your conoco email. Conoco just need one subpoena to link all users to corp emails...

You do realize that traffic sent to corporate emails is monitored? All a company has to do is tell their employees not to use this, and the verification alone could be grounds for disciplinary action. Crazy...

The app is Korean owned, they do not even hide it.

With company email, there is exposure. I still love my paycheck.
