This must be a Texas thing.
Hey @migs, Impaired individuals on the job are not the most serious safety risk there is. The highest safety risk comes from some of our own know-it-all project and construction managers and the backing they get from management.
Drug testing is b---s---. Don't get me wrong, impaired individuals on the job are a serious safety risk. That being said, you could argue the same for post-lunch meetings, multi-tasking, too many b---s--- meetings and compliance requirements that force you to complete actual work in your off hours.
Where's the test for those?
mcjn- Unfortunately the dosage they provide epileptics is far below what the average person would need to numb themselves from the deadwood that enjoys the sounds of their own voices here.
-mmnz, Yes I have used that line too when I am doing barbs. Too bad doc can't get us the real good stuff anymore - LOL!
Did the blow and go today as a matter of fact. It's always a PITA for me because barbiturates are what I best respond to for seizure disorder. (Epilepsy for y'all old school folks) It's the same song and dance where I receive a call from lab telling me I've failed, I utter something like, no sh--, and then I have to produce my current prescription # and pharmacy. Waste of time.
LOL
Cannabis legal in California though.....but they never were tested. Meetings after left coast lunchtime are always interesting.
They'll be using everything at their disposal to cut down on payroll burden. If you get burned in one of these drug screenings, don't expect Chevron to help you with rehabilitation. You'll be be out, high and dry. You will likely not get a severance check either, so wise up.
Yep
No
Yep. Helps with attrition. Wife works for Marathon, they are doing it as well.
