St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse is offering roughly 300 employees voluntary buyouts in an effort to reduce its staff. We are trying to avoid any layoffs, and Buyouts always help with this as folks who wanted to leave will leave. We'll see what happens if there it happens that we do not have enough takers.
Layoffs always s---, and we've been lucky here - I know that some hospitals in Upstate NY had layoffs in 2016 and 2017.
